Students Allowance

Introduction

The Government of Ghana has since 2017/18 academic year reintroduced the payment of allowances to students of Public Colleges of Education

The Allowance Amount:

Under the restored allowance scheme, each student is entitled to an amount of GHC 400.00 per month within the two semesters of the academic year i.e. October to January and April to July. The allowance will be disbursed as follows;

GHC 196.00 per month to be paid to the colleges for feeding grant and other deductibles
GHC 200.00 per student per month directly to the e-zwich accounts of the students
GHC 4.00 per month to be deducted and paid as TTAG dues

Eligibility (who qualifies)

Must be a Ghanaian
Admitted into a public College of Education
Registered as a student in the academic year

Requirements:

Eligible students are to obtain

Social Security Number (SSN) from any SSNIT branch office.
E-zwich Account/Card from any bank or rural bank
A valid and active mobile Phone Number

Note: Students are to ensure that the names on their admission letters or student ID cards are the same on the SSNIT card and e-zwich account/card in terms of the arrangement (surname, first name and, middle name) and spelling.
